(June 4, 2003) Governor Jim Douglas and Lt. Governor Brian Dubie share a light moment and state secrets on the location of the new state record northern pike, largemouth bass and landlocked salmon at an event to promote the popular Lake Champlain International (LCI) annual Father's Day Fishing Derby. Governor Douglas and Lt. Governor Dubie—both very strong supporters of Vermont's hunters, anglers, trappers and other outdoor enthusiasts—were instrumental in the passage of a new law that will allow anglers to fish the majority of Lake Champlain with one license beginning in 2004. This reciprocal agreement will be a boon to both LCI anglers and the businesses that depend on fishing-related business.
