LIHEAP:
Governor Shumlin and the Vermont Congressional Delegation urged Congress to help vulnerable Vermonters this winter and they listened –watch the video on how LIHEAP funding has changed and how it will affect Vermonters
Post Irene: Strengthening Mental Health Services for Vermonters:
The Shumlin administration announced a strategy to strengthen the mental health system in Vermont, focusing first and foremost on community-based programming and also providing adequate, secure, no rejection hospital level inpatient beds.
Health Reform:
The third of four health reform listening sessions were held in Burlington at the Sheraton Hotel. Watch a highlight of the video and learn more.
Energy Opportunities for Vermont:
- Senator Bernie Sanders and Governor Peter Shumlinannounced that through partnering with SandiaLabs, the University of Vermont and Green Mountain Power, a new energy center will be coming to Vermont. Watch Sen. Sanders discuss the opportunities this holds for Vermont's energy future and learn more about Governor Shumlin's thoughts on the new center.

Gov. Peter Shumlin, Public Service Commissioner Elizabeth Miller and other administration officials released the final Comprehensive Energy Plan, which recommends that Vermont strive to obtain 90 percent of our total energy from renewable sources by 2050, largely eliminating Vermont’s reliance on fossil fuels by mid-century.
“Vermont needs to move forward to protect our environment, gain greater energy independence, and drive innovation and jobs in the energy sectors. This Plan puts us on that path,” Gov. Shumlin said. “I am proud of the incredible work put in by the many agencies involved and the thousands of citizens who took the time to participate in shaping the ideas and actions that are included.”
