In moments Gov. Elect Peter Shumlin will be sworn in as the 81st Governor of the State of Vermont.

Following a formal ceremony in the House Chamber, the newly appointed Gov. Shumlin will greet well-wishers and head out to the Winter Village on the Statehouse lawn. There is a great deal of tradition involved in this day -- everything from the luncheon for former governors to the swearing in to the inaugural speech and finally to tomorrow night's inaugural ball.
