Father's Day Fishing Derby
June 24, 2004 -- Governor Douglas releases a smallmouth bass with the help of Yamaha Field Promotions Manager David Simmons. The bass was caught during the 23rd Annual LCI Father's Day Fishing Derby on Lake Champlain---America's oldest largest event of its kind. It began on June 19 and concluded on June 22 drawing over 5,500 people to the region. 976 of the 1097 fish caught were released alive. The rest went in a fry pan.
