The Monkton Boy Scout Troop 525, part of the Green Mountain Council has the spaghetti dinner and silent auction annually on Green Up day. This was the fourth annual. It is held in the memory of Erik Davis who was instrumental in resurrecting the troop in Monkton. Erik died in 2003. The troop currently stands at 29 Scouts. Ben Davis is the son of Erik Davis. Money raised from the event goes to supporting the troop and providing scholarships for scout camps.
