February 7, 2013 - MONTPELIER – Gov. Peter Shumlin announced today the appointment of Ferrisburgh Republican Warren Van Wyck to finish the two-year term of the late Rep. Greg Clark in the Addison-3 House district. Clark, a Vergennes Republican, died after being struck by a car late last year.

“Warren has big shoes to fill. Greg’s warmth and humor are missed in the Legislature,” said Gov. Shumlin. “I look forward to working with Warren and appreciate that he shares Greg’s collaborative view of State House work because we are solving some big challenges this year, including strengthening Vermont’s education system and workforce.”

Van Wyck will serve with join Rep. Diane Lanpher, D-Vergennes, in the district that includes Vergennes, Ferrisburgh, Addison, Waltham and Panton. District Republicans forwarded Van Wyck’s name to fill the House vacancy to Gov. Shumlin.
