Joint Statement Of Governor Scott And Senator Leahy On The President's Nomination Of Christina Nolan To Be Vermont's U.S. Attorney

September 22, 2017

Montpelier, Vt. – Governor Phil Scott and Senator Patrick Leahy today issued the following statement on the President's nomination of Christina Nolan to be Vermont's U.S. Attorney:

“We thank President Trump for following our recommendation and nominating Christina Nolan to be the next United States Attorney for the District of Vermont.  Christina is a tough and well-respected prosecutor who is uniquely familiar with the challenges of our state’s opioid crisis.  We were both impressed by Christina’s passion for the State of Vermont and for the mission of a prosecutor – to seek justice and improve our communities – as well as her thoughtfulness and leadership.  We will now work to advance her nomination in the Senate and hope she will be confirmed without delay.”
