No Child Left Inside
Dear Vermonter:
Thank you for your interest in the No Child Left Inside challenge.
No Child Left Inside is a seasonal program of my Fit and Healthy Kids Initiative. It is my goal to encourage young Vermonters, and those who are young-at-heart, to get outside and enjoy Vermont's many parks and historic sites.
Exploring all Vermont has to offer can start with choosing among a wide variety of fun outdoor activities close to home-swimming, canoeing, hiking, biking, fishing, nature walks, horseback riding and exploring Vermont's historic resources-all of which can be done at parks throughout our state. That's why we are encouraging Vermonters of all ages and abilities to get out to our parks this summer and have some fun.
The No Child Left Inside program runs through the entire month of July. Just download the form below, keep track of your activities and fill out the simple scorecard. Please include stories or pictures, outlining your activities.
At the end of the month, you can drop off your scorecard at any Vermont State Park or mail it to the Department of Forest Parks and Recreation for a chance to win prizes, including free camping or a hike with me.
Please have a save and enjoyable summer!
Sincerely,
Gov. Jim Douglas
