Declaration of State of Emergency and Activation of Emergency Operations Plan for State of Vermont, and Addedum Thereto

STATE OF VERMONT EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT EXECUTIVE ORDER

Pursuant to the authority vested in me as Governor of Vermont under 20 V.S.A. §9, and as a result of excessive rainfall and heavy snow combined with excessive winds from an April Nor’easter that began on April 15, 2007 that caused flooding and extensive utility damage that is considered ongoing at this time due to extended power outages, road damage and damage to public and private property throughout the State, I hereby declare a State of Emergency for the State of Vermont.

I further order and direct the activation of the Vermont Emergency Operations Plan and authorize the use of state resources to alleviate hardship and suffering of citizens and communities impacted by the storm and resulting damage and power outages.

This Executive Order shall take effect upon signing.

EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 04-07

STATE OF VERMONT EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM TO EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 04-07

Pursuant to 20 V.S.A. §13, I, James H. Douglas, hereby proclaim that the state of emergency declared on April 17, 2007 is terminated effective April 24, 2007 at 12:00 noon.
