SUBJECT: Governor Douglas’ Statement on the Passing of Harold J. Howrigan, Sr.

“Dorothy and I were saddened to learn of the passing of Harold J. Howrigan, Sr. Harold was a great friend and dedicated servant to the people of Fairfield, Franklin County and, indeed, the entire state. He devoted his life to promoting and preserving our state’s most precious traditions and worked tirelessly to improve agriculture in Vermont.

“His lifelong participation in local, state and regional affairs yields a long list of accomplishments which will forever serve as a testament to his leadership and his deep commitment to improving the lives of other in his community. His is a life to celebrate.

“Harold will be missed by all who had the pleasure and honor of working with him over the years. Our prayers are with Harold’s wife Anne and to the entire Howrigan family.”
