Description: The board examines existing medical services, emerging technologies, and relevant evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and makes recommendations to the department regarding coverage, unit limitations, place of service, and appropriate medical necessity of services in the state's Medicaid programs.
The Clinical Utilization Review Board (CURB) is recruiting for three positions. Per statute, CURB should be comprised of members with diverse medical experience who are appointed by the Governor. CURB meetings are scheduled every other month, generally on the third Wednesday of the month, from 6:30-8:30 pm. Per statute, the CURB must meet at least quarterly, therefore if interested in membership, please take into account this time obligation. Attendance options include in-person at the Waterbury State Office Complex in Waterbury, VT or remotely via Microsoft Teams.
Examples of 2021 clinical initiatives that the CURB engaged in are; out-of-network utlization, telemedicine and remote patient monitoring, and changes to prior authorization requirements.
