Establishing Statute: 13 VSA Ch 167 § 5352
Department: Vermont Center for Crime Victim Services
Description: This board is established for the purpose of awarding compensation to victims of crimes and to their dependents. The victim or a dependent of a victim shall, upon application, be eligible for compensation if: a law enforcement official has filed a report concluding that a crime was committed which resulted in the injury or death of the victim; and the crime was committed in this state; or the victim is a Vermont resident.
