Governor-Elect Phil Scott Addresses Property Tax Projections

Montpelier, Vt. – Governor-elect Phil Scott issued the following statement Thursday on the Tax Department’s property tax projections for fiscal year 2018:

“The Tax Department’s letter to the legislature suggests Vermonters’ education taxes will increase again in the coming year,” Governor-elect Scott said. “Clearly, more work needs to be done to provide Vermonters with the property tax relief they have been calling for. I look forward to working with the legislature in the coming years to tackle this challenge and improve the overall affordability of Vermont."
