The Vermont Governor’s Committee on the Employment of People with Disabilities (GCEPD) today announced Art LaPlante and Mark Royer of Barton’s EM Brown & Son Inc. as the winners of the 2019 “Spirit of ADA” Award, highlighting the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in their employment practices.

This Saturday, October 26, 2019, is the 18th nationwide Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Governor Phil Scott is encouraging Vermonters to bring their unused, unwanted and unneeded prescription medications to any of the more than 60 drop off sites around the state.

Nearly 500 emergency responders and officials from local, state and partner agencies will test their disaster recovery skills during Vermont’s fourth Catastrophic Exercise (CAT 4) from October 23-25. The exercise simulates the aftermath of a statewide catastrophic disaster and tests the ability to restore critical infrastructure.
